What else should I know about Miki?

Miguel Núñez Pozo, better known as Miki, is a Spanish singer who won the Eurovision gala on the tenth season of Operación Triunfo earlier this year. He will represent Spain at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “La Venda”

Born in 1996, Miki studied piano and guitar alongside a degree in administration and management. Before his big break, he was also the lead vocalist in cover band Dalton Bang.

Last year, Miki auditioned for the tenth season of Operación Triunfo where he was one of eighteen contestants selected for the opening gala. After his performance of “Prefiero”, he made it into the Academy alongside fifteen other hopefuls.

Over the weeks, Miki showed his versatility and delivered some amazing performances including “El Patio” and “Una lluna a l’aigua”, thus becoming the only contestant in the competition to win the public vote on two occasions. The singer made it all the way to the twelfth gala of the competition, narrowly missing out on the grand final and finishing in sixth place overall.

In January, Miki then went on to compete in the Eurovision Gala of
Operación Triunfo alongside eight other contestants from the series. He topped the public vote, winning the Gala and the honour of representing Spain at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.
